Christmas Present Appeal

Renfrewshire Access Panel is a small charity based in Renfrewshire dealing with accessibility.  Originally we started with access to the built and natural environment and access to services although we are now delighted to be at the forefront of promoting access across its widest remit and endeavours to be fully inclusive in its approach.  This means working across the private, public and third sector to remove physical and attitudinal barriers to equality, and to promote all aspects of independent living within the Renfrewshire community.

We are currently running an appeal for people to donate their unwanted Christmas presents, normally we all receive presents we either don’t need, won’t use or basically just don’t like them so we are asking for people to donate these presents so that we can give presents to children and adults to make Christmas more special.

We are happy to collect any presents you want to donate or you can deliver them to:

Office Move

We have now fully moved into our offices and have 2 volunteers in working each week, the office is a hub of enjoyment and plenty of work.

Spinal Injuries Scotland

We were invited to an event held by Spinal Injuries Scotland at Castle Semple Country Park, the event was attended by 3 committee members, Stephen, John & Morven and we also had Jackie from West Dunbartonshire Access Panel who we have an alliance with. A great day was had by all as both Stephen and Jackie got the chance to go in one of the sailing boats with an instructor and enjoyed an hour sailing on the loch.

Visits to Castle Semple

We have completed a few visits to Castle Semple Country Park and have now completed the access audit and provided our new look report to the staff.

Photos will be uploaded to our Gallery soon.

Access Panel Training

All three committee members attended the SDEF Level 2 training course in Eddleston, just outside Pebbles. The training again proved to be a fabulous resource and source of learning.  We are looking forward to the final session in early February.

Open Day

Renfrewshire Access Panel – Omniserv – Engage Renfrewshire

We held an open day on the May to recruit volunteers to assist Omniserv with the Athletes when they arrived at Glasgow Airport, this event turned into a fantastic success with a volunteer being given an award from both Glasgow Airport and Omniserv for going above and beyond.
